All Change
Notes on the redesign and spring cleaning this blog has undergone.
I’ve redesigned this place. It’s not massively different from the previous iteration — which I used for a little over 2 years — I just wanted to alter the focus so the content stood out more. I’ve also switched from Wordpress to Textpattern. My inexperience with the platform may lead to some temporary issues with the site, but I’ll be ironing them out over time.
On top of the redesign, I’ve massively rethought the content — that goes for existing, and future content. I’ve deleted a lot of the old posts that didn’t “fit” but I did make sure to keep the popular posts around. You’ll find the revised mission statement for future content on the about page.
On top of that, I’ve temporarily removed some older posts that, though well-liked (by myself), weren’t really up to scratch in terms of how they’re written. Over the next few months, I’ll rewrite them and republish them. That means anyone that’s been reading for more than a year may get a sense of deja vu when reading, but I will try to mix it up with new stuff too.
For now, I’m aiming for a once-a-week posting schedule, but once I’ve got all the old stuff rewritten, I may extend that to once-a-month. Whatever I eventually settle on, I want to try and enforce a stricter schedule for posting to avoid weeks or months of stagnation, as has been common recently.
