I Wrote That
A friend inadvertently finds me online.
I got a Facebook message from a female friend recently, with a link and just one word: “LOL!” The link went to I Can Has Cheezburger. LOL, indeed.
My friends are not web-addicted like I am. They are the sort of people that have a PC loaded with malware and fill their Facebook accounts with numerous useless applications, while I sit at home every night, wishing my Macbook was built in such a way that I could actually make love to it.
The same friend, upon receiving the bad news that I was familiar with lolcats, replied with another link she thought was my “sort of humour”, the kind of thing I would find funny. Recognising the URL, I clicked. I read. I laughed. “Hey, that is pretty funny,” I replied. “So you haven’t seen that before then?” she asked.
“Well, actually, I wrote that.”
I’m not sure if she now thinks I’m the coolest person she’s ever met, or some loser that fills his evening updating his blog. Still, I wish she’d found one of my better entries.
