Extinction Rebellion returns to Lincoln with ‘catchy’ performances


The Extinction Rebellion group is back in Lincoln with a performance by a group of people covered in red robes.

Seven performers descended on the city yesterday, November 26, dressed in “red and bloody clothes” and their faces painted white.

The performers were part of Extinction Rebellion’s “Red Rebels” group, which describes itself as an “international artist troupe dedicated to illuminating the global environmental crisis and supporting groups and organizations fighting to save humanity. and all species of mass extinction ”.

Scheduled to coincide with “Black Friday,” the Lincoln artists used mime to express “their sorrow at the way consumerism dominates our lives” and “the joy of the natural world.”

The performance was scheduled to coincide with “Black Friday”.

Extinction Rebellion has demonstrated in Lincoln on several occasions, with previous actions including several activists lying in the streets pretending to be dead.

One of the group in Lincolnshire, Rosemary Robinson, said the action took place on Black Friday to underscore Extinction Rebellion’s view that “consumerism is literally killing the planet”.
